Internship opportunity with the US EPA—A research project training opportunity is currently available at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Water. This internship will be served with the Office of Wetlands, Oceans and Watersheds (OWOW) in the Assessment, Watershed and Protection Division (AWPD) in Washington, DC. Applicants must have received a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in one or more of the following disciplines: public policy, engineering, landscape architecture, urban planning, hydrology, geology, water resources management, environmental/natural resource management, science, e.g., soils, forestry, agronomy and/or environmental economics, or a closely related field within five years of the desired starting date, or complete all degree requirements prior to the starting date.
The DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) Stormwater Green Infrastructure (GI) Team is seeking mid and senior level civil engineers, environmental engineers, and landscape architects to join our growing team. DDOT is a leading transportation agency in implementing innovative stormwater management technologies. DDOT’s program is rapidly advancing, with GI construction occurring in every DC road construction project. The stormwater GI team is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of stormwater GI projects citywide. GI team members are project managers for GI retrofit design and construction projects citywide. The team assists all DDOT road construction projects to ensure that the projects meet new stormwater retention requirements. The team also reviews private development projects for opportunities to reduce runoff in the public right of way. We are involved in planning and maintaining GI sites and work with many local and federal agencies.
