Ms. Peretz is interested in public policy and policy analysis, primarily related to new technology, air pollution, pollution prevention, hazardous- and solid-waste management, and solid-waste recycling. From a policy perspective, her work centers on (1) program evaluation; (2) decision-making processes; (3) public participation; (4) intergovernmental relations; and (5) devolution.

Ms. Peretz’s current work involves evaluating benefits and costs of federal research and development for cleaner technologies, policies to reduce air pollution, health effects from exposure to air pollution, sustainable energy technology and economic development, effects of government intervention policies on hazardous-waste generation, and smart growth planning by local governments.

Ms. Peretz is a member of the American Society for Public Administration, the Southern Regional Science Association, the Western Social Science Association, and the International Association for Society and Natural Resources. She serves on the editorial board of Public Works Management and Policy.

Outside the office, Ms. Peretz enjoys cooking, exercising, and spending time with her family. She follows the Green Bay Packers, and likes to drive her sports car on rural roads.
